Cloister Talks 2024: Fear of the future – hope for the future

Climate crisis, artificial intelligence, wars, political extremism and fake news – these are topics that many people associate with great fears. However, there are also some developments that allow us to look to the future with hope. This tension between fear and hope is the subject of this year's "Cloister Talks" (Kreuzganggespräche), to which the Catholic Forum in Thuringia and the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Erfurt cordially invite all interested parties on 5, 12 and 19 June.

Biologist and economist Dr Stefan Einsiedel will kick off the event with a lecture entitled "We in times of climate crisis and transformation". On the second evening, Joachim Frank, Chief Correspondent of the DuMont Media Group and Chairman of the Society of Catholic Journalists in Germany, will discuss "Journalism in times of fake news and artificial intelligence".
