Myriam Wijlens is the first Roman Catholic woman to be elected Vice Moderator of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches.

At its meeting in February 2024 in Indonesia, the Faith and Constitution Commission of the World Council of Churches, based in Geneva, elected the Dutch Catholic theologian and Professor of Canon Law at the University of Erfurt, Prof. Dr. Myriam Wijlens, as one of the vice moderators of its Commission. She is the first Catholic woman to hold this position.
