Two new publications released in June

These two new publications feature contributions from members of our department of New Testament Exegesis and Theology.

On 20 June, Prof. Norbert Clemens Baumgart, Department of Exegesis and Theology of the Old Testament, gave his farewell lecture on the topic “… das Meer und das Trockene.” (Jona 1,9). Zu Jonas “Zürnen” und JHWHs “Mitleiden”. As part of this farewell lecture, Prof. Baumgart was presented with a commemorative publication, to which Prof. Thomas Johann Bauer and Paula Josephine Greiner-Bär each contributed an article. The commemorative publication was edited by Dr. Cornelia Aßmann, Dr. Marlen Bunzel and Dr. Martin Nitsche, (former) colleagues and junior researchers of Norbert Clemens Baumgart.
The staff of the Department of New Testament Exegesis and Theology wish Prof. Norbert Clemens Baumgart all the best and God's blessings for his retirement and thank him very much for the always collegial and inspiring exchange of ideas!

Also in June, a new handbook on the subject of letters in antiquity was released. Prof. Thomas Johann Bauer contributed two articles to this publication.
