Valentin Wieser has been employed at the chair of International Relations since September 2026 as part of the “De-Globalisation and Global Decoupling (DeGlobE)” project. In this context, he is researching geo-economic knowledge structures. 

Until 2024, he studied International Relations and Economics (BA) at the University of Erfurt, including a period of study abroad at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. At the same time, Mr Wieser was already working as a student assistant at the chair of International Relations. He subsequently completed an MSc in International Economics and Sustainable Development at the University of Groningen. During his studies, Mr Wieser received funding from the German National Academic Foundation.
