As a personal synthesis of his research within the “Religion and Urbanity” research group, the book by religious studies scholar Jörg Rüpke, *Cities of Gods: A Global History of Religion and the City from the Ancient World to the Modern*, was published by Princeton University
Press in early October. Katharina Waldner, Sara Keller and Martin Vinzent will pose critical questions regarding the book from the perspectives of religious studies, Asian history, the history of theology and medieval studies. Participants will then have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.
Jörg Rüpke is Deputy Director of the Max-Weber-Kolleg and Co-Spokesperson for the Centre’s research group.
