New Book The Macroeconomics of Decarbonization by Professor Guntram Wolff is out now with Cambridge University Press!

In his keynote speech at the Brandt School Welcome Reception for this academic year, Professor Guntram Wolff, Honorary Professor at the Brandt School, gave a sneak preview of his upcoming book when discussing the collective action problem that is hindering climate action, the roadblocks for decarbonizing economic activity, and what follows for policy action.

Co-authored by Grégory Claeys, Marie Le Mouel, Simone Tagliapietra and Georg Zachmann of Bruegel, The Macroeconomics of Decarbonization discusses the challenge of short- and long-term economic transformations, assesses the focal points of policy intervention and sketches out a policy agenda to meet international climate goals. With this, the book presents an important contribution to policy debates surrounding the macroeconomic policies that must be undertaken by the world economy to limit global warming. As Professor Wolff stressed in his talk, the economic implications are significant and require determined and ambitious policy action when it comes to bending the emissions curve.
