BW 01 - Educational science internship: diagnosing, assessing and counselling

Requirements for the internship

  • Proof of sufficient vaccination protection (at least two measles vaccinations) or sufficient immunisation against measles must be provided to the school management of the internship school (Measles Protection Act 01.03.2020).

Goal

  • Developing the ability to diagnose pupils' learning requirements
  • Observations for performance recording and performance feedback
  • Developing the competence to plan and, if necessary, test measures for individual learning support

Exemplary fields of action

  • Observations and observations in the classroom under the aspect of diagnostic foundation of differentiation and individualisation
  • Testing selected diagnostic methods and procedures
  • Creation of support plans
  • ...

Scope and period

  • Master's programme in Education: 1st semester
  • 3 CP by attending the accompanying course and 50 hours of internship at a school

Place of learning

  • self-selected school according to the specifications in the accompanying courses
  • School must correspond to the desired teaching profession

Procedure and organisation

  • Completion via E.L.V.I.S.: The internship is part of the Diagnostics, Assessment and Counselling module in the Master's programme in Education.
  • Attendance of the accompanying course in the lecture period before the internship
  • Independent arrangement of the internship at the school and conclusion of the internship contract
  • Submission of the written work with proof of internship to the subject area of psychology

Requirements for the internship

Goal

  • Development of competences in the areas of education, classroom management and conflict resolution
  • To develop the ability to recognise and identify difficulties and conflicts that arise in the classroom and with individual pupils
  • Discussing possible solutions for conflict resolution and, if necessary, drafting measures for regulation

  • Observations and observations in lessons with a focus on classroom management
  • Observations of individual pupils in different situations
  • Surveys of teachers and/or pupils
  • ...

Scope and period

  • Master's programme in Education: 2nd semester
  • 3 CP by attending the accompanying course and 30 hours of internship at a school under individual requirements of the subject area

  • self-selected school according to the specifications in the accompanying courses
  • School must correspond to the desired teaching profession
