„Cembalo-Dynastie“: Aleksandra and Alexander Grychtolik perform Bach at the Friedenstein

Aleksandra and Alexander Grychtolik are regarded as one of the most distinguished harpsichordist couples on the international scene and have revitalised Baroque music through the creative dynamism of improvisation and bold arrangements of works. With a deep understanding of historical sound aesthetics, they set new standards as soloists. Their artistic work is reflected, amongst other things, in numerous TV productions for the European cultural channel ARTE, as well as in a series of award-winning CD recordings. Having been honoured with nominations for the ECHO Klassik and the German Record Critics’ Prize, their recordings are now regarded as a benchmark for a visionary fusion of the Arts and scholarship.

Aleksandra and Alexander Grychtolik perform on two master instruments by Cornelis Bom, one of which comes from the collection of Gustav Leonhardt, one of the most influential harpsichordists of the 20th century. They perform regularly at renowned concert halls such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt and at leading festivals such as the Leipzig Bach Festival, the Festival van Vlaanderen and the Festival J. S. Bach de Lausanne, as well as in the cultural capitals of Europe, Asia and the Americas. In 2021, they were also Artists in Residence at the International Bach Festival in Schaffhausen (Switzerland). In 2025, they were awarded the Order of Merit of the Ascanian House Order by Eduard, Prince of Anhalt, in recognition of their commitment to Europe’s musical heritage.
