On Friday, 24 October, which is also the nationwide "Day of Libraries", building historian Udo Hopf (Weimar) will lead a tour through the east tower of Friedenstein Castle on the history of the building and library. The guided tours will be offered twice: at 3 pm and 5 pm. The meeting point is the entrance to the Gotha Research Library on the first floor of Friedenstein Castle.

On Saturday, 25 October, four special guided tours of the Research Library's annual exhibition "ADEL MACHT STAAT. The Gotha Court Calendar 1763 to 1944" will provide insights into this most important aristocratic and state handbook of the 19th and 20th centuries, which carried the name of Gotha into the world. The guided tours offered by the curators of the exhibition, Sven Ballenthin and Petra Weigel, take place at 10 am, 11.30 am, 1 pm and 2.30 pm. The meeting point is the entrance to the Hall of Mirrors of the Research Library on the second floor of the Ducal Staircase (left-hand side) of Friedenstein Castle.

Please register for all guided tours up to two days before the respective event on 0361/737-5530 or veranstaltungen.fb@uni-erfurt.de.
