New team member: Sabine Best

Since April 1, 2022, Sabine Best has been supporting the chair of health communication and the department for media and communication science at the University of Erfurt as a research assistant. She brings with her enthusiasm for socially relevant and innovative topics as well as extensive experience in empirical research and academic teaching.

After completing her B.A. in communication science and economics at the University of Erfurt, Sabine Best obtained an M.A. in media management at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. She is currently doing her doctorate with Prof. Patrick Rössler (Professor for Empirical Communication Research & Methods) in the field of persuasive communication.

After graduating, Sabine Best worked as a research assistant and academic advisor at the Bauhaus University. She then conducted empirical studies on digitization in the skilled trades for the Erfurt Chamber of Crafts. Since 2018 she has been involved in the innovation management department of the Mainz University of Applied Sciences in the BMBF-funded project »Light Workshop Jena« in the Abbe Center of Photonics Jena. The light workshop is an idea and prototype laboratory in which citizens, researchers and founders gain access to modern technologies and the necessary knowledge to develop and implement their own creative ideas.

Together with Prof. Cornelia Betsch, Sabine Best will teach the course "Empirical Methods" in the summer semester. She will provide student coordination in the Health Communication master program and support the research projects.

Innovative and future-oriented topics have always inspired me and shape both my research activities and teaching, as well as my professional projects. I would like to contribute to the work of the scientific staff with my experience and, on the basis of scientific research, elaborate with the students on how stakeholders from society, science and economy can contribute to finding creative and effective answers to the challenges of planetary health.

Dear Sabine Best - welcomes & good luck!
