Lena Rüger works as a Project and Lab Manager in the research project IMPACTS – Investigating Motivations, Practices, and Unintentional Consumption of Toxic Skin-Lightening. The project explores motivations, practices, and decision-making processes related to skin-lightening in sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on how beauty ideals and social norms shape individual perceptions and consumption behavior.
She is also involved in research on antibiotic resistance, focusing on the role of human behavior and behavioral science approaches in promoting more responsible antibiotic use.
At the same time, Lena Rüger is pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Communication at the University of Erfurt.
