Can Satire Transform the Public Sector? Guest Lecture with Author and Satirist Elnathan John

The Nigerian Author and Satirist Elnathan John visited the Brandt School on December 15 and gave a guest lecture on whether satire can transform government and bureaucracy.

He warned of a conflation of satire and comedy as it would make people laugh and move on. Instead, satire should leave people with an uncomfortable feeling and could thus not directly transform the public sector, but definitely help set agendas and trigger activism.
