A Brandt School Network for Fostering Integrity, Accountability, Justice and Action to Fight Corruption in Contextualized Settings

At the Integrity Policy Network (IPN), we recognize that democratic transitions do not automatically ensure integrity. Societies around the world face corruption and multiple manifestations of particularism: inequality, injustice, discretionary power, and abuses of authority. As the path to integrity is not predetermined, we bring together researchers, practitioners and civil society in an interdisciplinary space to promote innovative and equitable integrity-related approaches.

Vision and Purpose

Our long-term goal is to create a sustained, interdisciplinary research and professional network that fosters innovative solutions to integrity challenges, contributes to evidence-based policymaking worldwide, and advocates for greater justice and accountability.

What We Do

  • Knowledge Exchange: Creating bidirectional learning flows between Global South and North.
    • From South to North: Contextually grounded strategies, adaptive governance models, and innovative citizen engagement approaches
    • From North to South: Technical expertise, institutional design frameworks, and resource mobilization strategies
  • Capacity Building: Developing skills and competencies among early career researchers and practitioners through mentorship, training, and collaborative research opportunities
  • Evidence Generation: Producing rigorous, contextually relevant research that examines corruption's structural determinants and evaluates intervention effectiveness
  • Policy Influence: Translating knowledge into actionable policy recommendations through strategic partnerships with decision-makers and civil society organizations.

How We Work

  • International research collaborations
  • Policy Labs to test innovative approaches
  • Open knowledge platforms for global access
  • Regional chapters to address local challenges
  • Public engagement & translation to make knowledge accessible
