Dr. Hasnain Bokhari Participates in the International Conference on Dialogue of Civilisations & Tolerance in Abu Dhabi

On February 20, 2024, Dr. Hasnain Bokhari, the Brandt School's Lead on Internationalisation and Digitalisation participated in a conference jointly hosted by the Emirates Scholar Research Center, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).

From February 20 to 22, 2024, the International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance (IDCT) Conference unfolded at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. The event brought together a diverse array of participants, including representatives from governments, academia, multilateral organizations, and various stakeholders. This gathering aimed to delve into fundamental themes integral to the Dialogue of Civilizations.

The conference commenced with an inauguration by Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Throughout the three-day event, experts and academics engaged in discussions about scientific issues related to enhancing the values of tolerance and coexistence. Keynote speeches and panel discussions explored the impact of these values on communication with a culturally, racially, socially, and religiously diverse "other." Various sessions during the conference delved into topics such as leadership perspectives on tolerance, global perspectives on peace and development, education, sustainable development, and international relations.

In addition to his participation in the conference, Dr. Hasnain Bokhari also utilized the opportunity to visit Khalifa University, a public sector research university in Abu Dhabi. During this visit, he engaged in dialogues with colleagues working on digital inclusion and divide, exploring promising avenues for future research collaboration and scientific exchange.
