AI as the basis for active participation in society?

Following the successful lecture series on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence", to which the City of Erfurt and Erfurt's universities invited students for the first time in the 2024 summer semester, the series will be continued in 2025. On eight dates – each Tuesday from 6.15 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. in the Erfurt Town Hall – speakers from the University of Erfurt and Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, the International University of Cooperative Education (iba), the International University of Applied Sciences and the Health and Medical University will shed light on various aspects of artificial intelligence (AI) from different scientific perspectives.

On 3 June, the focus will be on artificial intelligence in educational settings: In view of the increasing penetration of everyday activities with data-based intelligent technologies, so-called artificial intelligence, the development of digital skills is a central social task. After all, the lives of teenagers and young adults in particular are increasingly characterised by these technologies. The ability to move confidently and self-determinedly in digital worlds is thus becoming the basis for active participation in society. In the core of his lecture Professor Sven Jöckel from the University of Erfurt, will show which aspects play a role in mastering AI and algorithms. He will analyse how such skills can be promoted in different educational settings.

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Admission is free. Please note, however, that the number of seats is limited to 180.
