Of course, we take data protection seriously and are committed to maintaining a good tone.

Netiquette

We look forward to sharing and discussing our news and stories with you. We understand diversity as a great added value and wish for a tolerant, open and polite interaction in our daily dealings - also in social media. Please understand that we may delete posts that are discriminatory, commercial, or inappropriate in form or content without comment. Please note that our social media channels are not intended to be advertising space for third parties but are exchange platforms for our global community.

Data Protection

As part of its communication measures, the Master’s program Global Communication: Politics and Society at the University of Erfurt also operates pages in social networks such as Facebook and LinkedIN. The social media work serves public relations as well as fast and target group-oriented communication with members of the university as well as the interested public. In this context, we also process personal data ("legitimate interest" according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) DSGVO). We kindly ask you not to submit application documents or otherwise sensitive data via these channels but to use our application platform for this purpose or to contact us via e-mail.

We do not use social media plug-ins on this website. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that providers such as Facebook already collect personal data when you call up the site, e.g. by clicking on links, which can be used technically to build up a personal profile. It is irrelevant whether you are a member of the social network and logged in. The University of Erfurt has no influence on the collection of data by the social networks. Please note the data protection information of the respective providers.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that when using the social media services of the Meta Group (Facebook and Instagram), data security cannot be guaranteed under European law. Detailed information on data protection when using Facebook can be found on these pages of the University of Erfurt.

To read or watch our posts on social media services, you do not need an own account. All relevant information about studies, research, people or news is also available in compliance with data protection regulations via this website. Important information for our current students is mainly and internally shared via Moodle.
