As an international and highly diverse school of public policy, the Brandt School maintains a variety of distinguished relationships with renowned higher education institutions from around the globe. The Brandt School’s Erasmus partnership with the CEU aims to take its internationalisation efforts further to cultivate a long-term strategic partnership with the DPP.

Key features of the Erasmus exchange programme

The newly established Erasmus partnership with the CEU aims to promote learning mobility and provides a unique opportunity for students of both institutions to advance their academic profile in two equally historic European metropolises, namely Erfurt and Vienna. The DPP is a multidisciplinary institution at the CEU that shares similar values with the Brandt School, focusing on studying global public policy issues in theory and practice. The Erasmus partnership with the DPP at the CEU will enable a regular exchange of students and faculty members of both the institutions to participate in courses offered at the Brandt School and the DPP. The students of the two European partners will benefit from the state-of-the-art public policy curriculum offered by both institutions, thereby promoting social cohesion, active citizenship and, of course, an increased career prospect that is among the core objectives of the Erasmus programme.

Focus on Internationalisation at the University of Erfurt

Internationalisation has been at the heart of the University of Erfurt's strategic agenda for the past few years. The internationalisation efforts aim to establish, among others, international partnerships, develop a welcoming culture and promote intercultural competence. The Erasmus partnership with the DPP at the CEU is a highly active and mutually rewarding step by the Brandt School towards a long-term footing to foster quality education and strengthen student and staff mobility. In addition, since 2021, Brandt School has also launched an Internationalisation and Digitalisation project led by Dr. Hasnain Bokhari. In future, the Brandt School plans to offer similar and more opportunities to its students by establishing partnerships with institutions from both the Global North and Global South.
