Science Forum: Perspectives on the Contemporary Global Order – Economy, Power and Security in Times of (De)Globalisation and Geoeconomics

The discussions are ontologically open and deliberately heterogeneous in terms of subject matter – ranging from intelligence studies through the political economy of resource extraction to normative approaches to the clean transition. The aim is to refine ongoing research, overcome disciplinary boundaries and develop new analytical perspectives on the key political dynamics of our time.

The forum includes a writing workshop for early-stage researchers, organised in collaboration with the university’s internal research training group ‘Centre for Political Practices and Orders’, as well as a public lecture by Professor Sebastian Dullien (Institute for Macroeconomics and Business Cycle Research) entitled ‘The German Economy at a Turning Point: Does the Federal Government Have the Right Answers?’ in the Erfurt Town Hall on 7 October 2026 at 6.30 pm, to which all interested parties are warmly invited.
