New article presents institutional perspectives on developing green skills

Together with colleagues from the universities of Konstanz, Heidelberg, and Roskilde (Denmark), Achim Kemmerling publishes a paper on “Foundations for a green economy: how institutions shape green skills” in the Nature Portfolio Journal/ Climate Action.

In the article, Prof. Dr. Kemmerling and his colleagues describe the important role of institutions in facilitating the formation of Green Skills, its political economy, as well as the possibilities of cross-border exchange in skill formation. The later is crucial, since countries in the Global South can provide not only a lot of human resources, but also have much experience in training systems, a fact that is often overlooked in debates about skill shortage for the green transition.
