Lecture series on the future of the world order in view of recent global developments

The University of Erfurt, the Thuringian State Parliament and the Funke Media Group are continuing their joint lecture series in the 2025 summer semester, to which all interested parties are cordially invited. This time, the focus will be on the future of the world order in light of recent global developments. The first date is Tuesday, 10 June. Julia Friedlander, Managing Director of "Atlantik-Brücke" Association, will speak at 6.15 p.m. in the plenary hall of the Thuringian State Parliament on "Zukunft der Weltordnung angesichts der jüngsten globalen Entwicklungen" (Renegotiating the world order: The role of the West).

For a long time, Western decision-makers could not imagine that Europe and America would lose their influence. But the international institutions of the post-war period have not only secured our prosperity, they have also given many countries the opportunity to assert themselves on the world stage. What could a new world order look like and how can we prepare for it? These questions will be the focus of the lecture series on 10 June.

The next event is on 19 June. Former Federal Minister of Defence Rudolf Scharping (SPD) will then be our guest. Further information will fowllow.

Admission to the event on 10 June is from 6 pm. Admission is free. However, registration is requested at www.thueringer-allgemeine.de/ringvorlesung.
