Jule Marie Schmitz

Background

During her time at the University of Erfurt, Jule Schmitz was involved in the Robert Koch Institute’s Intervention Study to Increase HPV Vaccination Coverage in Germany (InveSt HPV). As part of this research project, she developed and facilitated evidence-based, psychological communication trainings for healthcare professionals and supported their evaluation.

Since October 2025, Jule Schmitz is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on the perceived confusion or ambiguity about nutrition recommendations and research among emerging adults, as well as its determinants (in the context of social media) and consequences. The overall project’s aim is to develop tools for emerging adults that help navigate inaccurate, conflicting or misleading nutritional information on social media, thereby empowering emerging adults to make healthy dietary decisions.
