Chair of Communication Science

with a focus on interpersonal communication in the context of digitalization

Welcome to the Chair of Communication Science with a focus on interpersonal communication in the context of digitalization!

We study communication processes at the intersection of interpersonal communication and mass communication. Our research is focused on three main areas: the relationship between journalism and its audience, online discourses, and the role of the Internet and Social Media in shaping political opinion.

Methodologically, we primarily use standardized surveys and experimental studies as well as qualitative methods.
