The Brandt School is delighted to announce the expansion of its global executive network: The Senior Brandt Fellows are distinguished practitioners who enrich the School with their experience from leadership positions in public policy and their extensive professional networks. They contribute to the School’s program in various ways, such as guest lectures, adjunct teaching or mentoring students. This new senior executive-level fellow program, which institutionalizes existing bonds and introduces new ones, will add greatly to the School’s mission to bridge academia and practice in its students’ education.
The new Senior Brandt Fellows bring a diverse set of backgrounds and expertise to the Brandt School: Carmen Niethammer has held positions at the United Nations, the World Bank and the ICF in Brazil, Egypt, Sri Lanka, the United States, and Yemen. She is currently the Senior Gender Specialist at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Carmen enriches the Brandt School community, among other, through her deep expertise in gender-smart finance and in fostering policies for women’s labor force participation (www.uni-erfurt.de/en/university/current/news/news-detail/foerderung-der-erwerbsbeteiligung-von-frauen).
Our second Senior Brandt Fellow, Achim von Heynitz, draws on many years of experience as a consultant and executive for international and non-profit organizations, including the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and on his work for think tanks such as the RAND Corporation. His core expertise is on public finance, management, and organizational change.
