Award for the best Bachelor's thesis

Paula Nitsch, Luca Hollwedel, Luise Winkler, Emma Schwarzburg, Lilly-Marie Schnell, Yara Steegmann, Maren Heller and Sarah Döring have reason to celebrate: Not only have they completed their Bachelor’s degrees in Communication Studies – the eight students are also the winners of this year’s 500-euro prize for the best Bachelor's thesis 2026 in Communication Studies at the University of Erfurt.

The winning team: Paula Nitsch, Luca Hollwedel, Luise Winkler, Emma Schwarzburg, Lilly-Marie Schnell, Yara Steegmann, Maren Heller and Sarah Döring, along with their project supervisor, Dr Jakob Henke.

They impressed the jury with their project “#OnlinePolitics. Politicians as influencers – trend or cringe? An analysis of the Thuringian State Parliament 2025/26 on Instagram and TikTok”, which was supervised by Dr Jakob Henke and which they co-authored and presented today to a large audience at this year’s Project Forum.
