Short Biography
Sören Schmidt is an international relations and public policy professional with experience in political foundations, parliamentary work, and international development cooperation. He has worked with institutions such as the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), where he gained experience in development cooperation and fund financing. His international professional experience is complemented by teaching and project-based work in Ghana and the Netherlands.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from the University of Erfurt and an Advanced Master of Science in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University in The Hague. Sören is currently pursuing a PhD on the influence of populist and radical right-wing parties on development aid under the supervision of Prof. Achim Kemmerling.
