Online oral history interpretation workshop with historian and cultural scientist Ines Heisig

Information from the organisers

We are pleased to welcome Ines Heisig as a guest. In the research project "Ford Saarlouis - from beacon of hope to co-determination case" Ines Heisig, who holds a doctorate in history and cultural studies from the Saarland Chamber of Labour, documents the closure of the Ford plant in Saarlouis from the employees' perspective. Initiated by IG Metall, the project is a response to the Ford Group's announcement of the plant closure in June 2022, which will affect around 4,600 employees directly and around 2,000 in supplier companies. The aim is to record and archive the transformation process at the Saarlouis site and thus make it accessible to researchers and the public in the long term. At the centre of the project are the individual experiences of the affected employees, which are documented through narrative interviews. So far, 20 interviews have taken place with employees from different generations and groups of people.

We accept registrations at OH.Forschungsstelle@uni-erfurt.de up to one week before the date.
