Graduate Program

The CEREB Graduate Program offers PhD students and postdocs a structured and supportive research environment. Beyond individual mentoring, members are integrated into cross-disciplinary teams and benefit from a range of formats designed to foster academic exchange and professional development.

At the heart of the program is the doctoral colloquium (Thursdays, 12–2 p.m.), where research projects are presented and discussed at all stages — from conception to completion. This regular forum provides mutual support for both academic and non-academic career paths. Once a year, a dedicated Research Week brings together CEREB members and invited guests for intensive collaborative work on current projects. Complementing this, one to two short lecture series are offered annually, each consisting of three 90-minute sessions on topics in statistics, methods, or emerging research areas.

Scholarships for PhD students and postdocs are awarded on a regular basis. Applicants should hold an excellent university degree in one of the disciplines central to the CEREB and aim to complete a dissertation or habilitation in one of those areas. Additional financial support is available for presenting research at national and international conferences.

The program also encourages international networking: PhD students and postdocs can spend three months to one semester at one of CEREB's cooperating institutes abroad, deepening their research ties and expanding their professional networks across European universities.
