Das Dekanat leitet die Fakultät (§39 ThürHG) als Selbstverwaltungseinheit und sorgt im Rahmen seiner gesetzlichen Aufgaben für das Zusammenwirken von Organen und Mitgliedern der Fakultät und erforderlichenfalls für einen Ausgleich zwischen ihnen.
