Online lecture by Dr Jeanne Wilbrandt (University of Vienna) as part of the TKFDM Online Coffee Lecture Series Summer Semester 2026

In this Coffee Lecture, Jeanne Wilbrandt, one of the co-authors, presents the modular Folder Structure Template (FST), which was developed specifically for (early career) researchers in the life sciences. The template not only provides folders for sorting your files, but also comprehensive guidance and templates for capturing metadata, thus serving as a starting point for conscious data organisation using RDM best practices for individuals. The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions specifically about the FST and data organisation in general.

The FST is freely available (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.15835125) and is described in the accompanying publication (DOI: 10.5334/dsj-2025-035).
