The publication of thesis (bachelor's, master's, diploma and master's thesis) is subject to the approval of the supervisor and the thesis needs to be graded "gut" (good) or above. The superviser approves the submission of the thesis in electronic form by signing the appendix to the publication contract.

The regulations specify the form required in order for the thesis to be approved for publication as well as the number of deposit copies to be submitted to the university library. The library includes the qualification thesis in its catalog and, depending on the publication mode, additionally in the Digitale Bibliothek Thüringen (DBT). The library also forwards the deposit copies to other academic libraries according to agreements and regulations between German libraries.
