Submission of final theses

The publication of thesis (bachelor's, master's, diploma and master's thesis) is subject to the approval of the supervisor and the thesis needs to be graded "gut" (good) or above. The superviser approves the submission of the thesis in electronic form by signing the appendix to the publication contract.

PhD thesis and post-doctoral thesos are to be submitted in accordance with the doctorate or habilitation regulations of the individual faculties, which are available at the respective dean’s office or online:

The regulations specify the form required in order for the thesis to be approved for publication as well as the number of deposit copies to be submitted to the university library. The library includes the qualification thesis in its catalog and, depending on the publication mode, additionally in the Digitale Bibliothek Thüringen (DBT). The library also forwards the deposit copies to other academic libraries according to agreements and regulations between German libraries.

  • Please note that the library accepts your deposit copies exclusively via the dean’s office of your faculty. This ensures that it is the work confirmed by the examination board.
  • All printed dissertations and postdoctoral thesis from the University of Erfurt are managed as deposit copies through Exchange / Gifts / Monographs / Thesis.
  • The certificates necessary for the receipt of the doctorate or habilitation certificate are issued here and given to the dean’s office.
  • To protect your privacy, we recommend that a curriculum vitae not be included in the books. If the inclusion is required by your dean’s office, please use a short form limited to your academic career.
