Guidelines on the Acceptance of Donations

The University Library of Erfurt is happy to consider accepting donations that are in line with the collection profile for research and teaching at the University of Erfurt and that usefully supplement its collection of books and other media.

Please note the following guidelines:

• Before offering a gift, please check the catalogue to see whether the University Library already holds the title(s) on offer in its collection.
• As a rule, duplicate copies are not accepted. Where current editions of a title are already present in the library’s collection, earlier editions are generally not added. Outdated reference works, textbooks and legal texts cannot be accepted either.
• The University Library only accepts donations that are in good condition.
• If you wish to donate items, please draw up a list in advance containing the relevant bibliographic details of the items (author/editor, title, publisher, place and year of publication, edition details). Please also include details of the age and condition of the items. Please then send this list by email to the following address: tausch.ub@uni-erfurt.de
• Donations are accepted exclusively without conditions and with the right of free disposal; upon acceptance, they become the property of the University of Erfurt. Whether they are incorporated into the library collection or used in any other way is at the discretion of the University
