Searching for literature

You can search for specific books or by subject on the online-catalogueor the search portal Discovery

Here you can see where to find the items you were looking for in the library, whether they are available for loan or if they have to be requested.

Access to e-books, electronic journals, databases (German) and other electronic documents is directly from the catalogue. Members of Erfurt University have access to most  electronic resources also from off-campus.

 

Finding your way around

Most books, journals and other media are available on open shelves in the reading-room. They are classified by subjects. Each subject is subdivided into themes and subthemes. The shelf-mark on each volume indicates the classification. You can search the catalogue for the shelf-marks and the floor on which to find an item.

 

Finding newspapers and journals

Current issues are in the flaps next to the responding subject areas, older issues can be found at the beginning of each subject area on the shelves.

E-journals are also listed in the Electronic journals library (EZB).

Daily newspapers are available on the 2nd floor opposite the lockers.
