Use our form if you want to report a single publication with an identifier (DOI, ISBN, ISSN). 

For publication lists or publications without Persistent Identifier (DOI, ISBN), send us your list(s) in any format bibliographie.ub@uni-erfurt.de 

Electronic publications should have a persistent identifier (DOI) if possible. If no persistent identifier (DOI) is available, we recommend additional publication in the Digitale Bibliothek Thüringen (DBT).

Abstract (conference / meeting)

An abstract is a short text that summarizes a presentation at a conference and has been published either in a scientific journal or in conference proceedings.

Annotations

An annotation is a note to a judgement discussion.

Article / Essay

An essay or article is a completed contribution on a defined topic or issue that has been published together with other contributions, e.g. in a journal.

Bachelor thesis

Internationally, a Bachelor's thesis is an academic or artistic paper written by students at the end of a Bachelor's degree program. The Bachelor's thesis must be published either by a publisher or on an (institutional) repository and have a unique identifier (DOI, URN, ISBN).

Blog post

A blog post is an essay or article in a webblog or on a website.

Book (collection)

A book edited by one or more people. It contains contributions in the form of book essays or chapters by various authors.

Book essay / chapter

A book essay or chapter is a completed contribution on a defined topic or issue that has been published together with other contributions, e.g. in a book.

Book (monograph)

A book, written by one or more authors, that is dedicated to a specific topic and presents it comprehensively and in consideration of the relevant research results.

Conference paper

A conference paper is a paper that has been produced as part of a conference and published in a conference proceeding, a journal or a repository.

Conference proceedings

A book edited by one or more people. It contains contributions from a scientific conference in the form of book essays or chapters by various authors.

Data Article / Data Paper

A factual and objective publication with a focused intent to identify and describe specific data, sets of data, or data collections to facilitate discoverability.

Diploma thesis

In Germany, a diploma thesis is the final written work of a diploma program at a university or university of cooperative education. The diploma thesis is a written component of a diploma examination and leads to the award of the academic diploma degree (Diplom). The diploma thesis must be published either by a publisher or on an (institutional) repository and have a unique identifier (DOI, URN, ISBN).

Dissertation

A dissertation is a scientific work to acquire a doctoral degree.

Essay (conference)

An article (conference) is a conference paper that has been published permanently on the organizer's website or a repository as part of a conference.

Exhibition catalog

An exhibition catalog is a list with explanations of what is shown at an exhibition. The form can vary and may include lists, essays, explanations, the catalog section and factual advertisements.

Habiliation

A habilitation is a scientific work to acquire the university teaching qualification.

Interview

Interviews relating to scientific activities that have been published in magazines, newspapers, blogs, radio or television can be reported here.

Journal

A journal is a regularly published, ongoing collective work in which articles on a specific topic or subject are published.

Letter

A letter contains contributions (e.g. data from original research) that the editors believe to be of interest to researchers. This format is often subject to strict length restrictions and is also known as Brief Communications.

Lecture / speech

A lecture is a speech, e.g. in front of a specialised audience or in a journal.

Lexicon

A reference work organised alphabetically by keyword for all fields of knowledge or for a specific subject area. It contains contributions in the form of book essays or chapters by various authors.

Lexicon entry

An lexicon entry is a contribution in the form of book essays and chapters in an encyclopaedia or a lexicon.

Master thesis

A Master's thesis is an international scientific or artistic work that is written for the completion of a Master's degree programme. The Master's thesis generally serves as proof that students are capable to write a scientific or artistic thesis independently, but under supervision. The Master’s thesis must be published either by a publisher or on an (institutional) repository and have a unique identifier (DOI, URN, ISBN).

Musical notes

Sheet music means a written or printed piece of music or an extract from it, e.g. in the form of a manuscript, a bound score or a printed individual part.

Newspaper

A newspaper is a regularly published, ongoing collective work in which articles with current and universal content are published.

Patent specification

A patent specification refers to a granted patent and contains descriptions and drawings of a technical process or product.

Poster

A poster is a visual presentation of scientific results that have been published permanently and with a unique identifier (DOI, URN, handle) on the organisers' website or a repository as part of a conference.

Preface / epilog/ editorial

A preface or epilogue is a contribution to the introduction or conclusion of a topic in a journal or book.

Research data

Research data are data that are generated during the planning, realisation and documentation of scientific projects or are used in such projectsThey form an essential foundation of scientific work and document its results. Evaluation, analysis and interpretation of research data enables conclusions to be drawn, generates information and provides new insights.

Research Report

The category "Report" includes public scientific publications that were either published by the institution in which the research takes place or were commissioned by an institution. Working papers, expertises, research and final reports, e.g. from projects of public institutions, can be recorded here.

Review

A review is an article that contains a critical assessment of one or more works.

Series

A series is an ongoing collective work that comprises several publications, each of which is self-contained but has a general thematic relationship to each other.

Special issue

A special issue is an issue of a journal on a special topic.

Video- / film

A video or film contribution is an electronic reproduction of moving images and sound.

Website / blog

A blog is a diary-like, publicly accessible website that is constantly updated with comments and notes on specific scientific topics.

Working paper

Discussion papers or working papers are usually multi-page publications by researchers that do not appear in specialist journals or textbooks, but are distributed as project-specific publications, e.g. via a university repository.
