Open access publishing in the "Digitale Bibliothek Thüringen" (DBT)

The "Digitale Bibliothek Thüringen (DBT)" is the institutional repository and publication server of the University of Erfurt and also a Thuringian cooperation project. The Electronic Text Center (ETC) offers you as a member of the University of Erfurt the opportunity to publish your work open access in the DBT. There are two available options:

  • an open access publication as a first release publication
  • an already published work that you publish on the Green Open Access path as a second release publication. Please verify in this case if the right to an additional open access publication, e.g. in an institutional repository, is explicitly included in the publication contract with the publisher.

What content can be published in the DBT?

  • Thesis: The publication of thesis (bachelor's, master's, diploma and master's thesis) is subject to the approval of the supervisor and the thesis needs to be graded "gut" (good) or above. The superviser approves the submission of the thesis in electronic form by signing the appendix to the publication contract.
  • Dissertations and postdoctoral thesis:  for further details on how to publish please refer to the our Dissertation acceptance page.
  • Scientific articles: Scientific articles can be published as a first or second publication. Members and affiliates of the University of Erfurt are entitled to publish their scientific research results in DBT open access if those works were created during their employment at the University of Erfurt .
  • Films and videos: please note the information on the publication of films/videos on the pages of the DBT Information on the publication of videos
