Online lecture by Thomas Schröder (Head of the University Computing Centre, TU Ilmenau) and André Sternbeck (Consultant for High-Performance Computing, University of Jena) as part of the TKFDM Coffee Lecture Series in the winter semester 2025

In the age of digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in optimising processes and creating new opportunities for universities. The Coffee Lecture provides an overview of current AI applications at the University IT Centre. The discussion will cover essential tools and technologies such as translation systems and chatbots that facilitate intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange. Practical examples from the HS-ITZ, such as Ollama, OpenWebUI and MoKITUL, illustrate how AI can enrich not only technical processes, but also the learning experiences of students.
