Ayse Yasar is a Ph.D. student in Religious Studies with a focus on the impact of Annemarie Schimmel on the history of religions in Türkiye.
Ayse completed her Bachelor's degree at Marmara University in Istanbul, where she wrote her thesis on “Jesus Christ in the Koran and the Bible.”
She then completed her Master's degree from Erfurt University, with a thesis on “The Süleymanlı Movement in Germany”, examining the intersections of religion, migration, and cultural exchange.
Currently, Ayse's research centers on Annemarie Schimmel's academic legacy and her role in shaping religious studies, especially in History of religions in Türkiye. Her research explores Schimmel's contributions to the field, particularly her influence on the development of religious studies in the Turkish context.
