Give science a stage: Take part in the Erfurt Science Slam 2021!

After it had to be cancelled in 2020 due to Corona, there will be a new edition of the Erfurt Science Slam, the popular science lecture competition of the University of Erfurt. On 3 November, it's "Science on stage" again in the theatre "Die Schotte".

[Translate to English:] Key Visual Science Slam

Science thrives on exchange with an audience, the communication of new ideas and findings, and a lively presentation in a very special format. This is a unique way of getting a curious audience interested and excited about one's own research topic, away from the usual professional colleagues.

In November, the University of Erfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt invite you to the sixth Erfurt Science Slam in the theatre "Die SCHOTTE". The aim is to present your own research questions, methods or findings in ten-minute, generally understandable presentations. This year, too, every topic is welcome, every tool can be used. What counts is to captivate the audience and thereby win the coveted trophy as a slammer.

All scientists at Erfurt's universities are invited to participate: advanced MA students, doctoral students, postdocs or professors. Your first performance in front of a lay audience? No problem! We offer all participants a preparatory workshop beforehand.

If you would like to participate in the Science Slam 2021 as a slammer, please send a short e-mail with your name, your university and the possible topic to nachwuchsfoerderung@uni-erfurt.de by 19 August 2021.
