To take up studies at the University of Erfurt, you need a valid university entrance qualification. For the undergraduate programmes (Bachelor and Magister Catholic Theology), according to § 67 Thüringer Hochschulgesetz (ThürHG), access is possible with one of the following educational pathways:
Studying with Abitur / subject-related higher education entrance qualification
Studying without Abitur - University access for those with vocational qualifications
Studying with first university degree
Higher education entrance qualification obtained abroad
To make an application for a master's programme at the University of Erfurt, you will need a first higher education qualification. You must have successfully completed a higher education programme with a standard duration of at least six semesters.
In addition, specific entry requirements apply to each master's programme. These are set out in the relevant examination regulations. The relevant examination board will assess whether you meet the requirements for your chosen master's programme.
The examination board’s decision is a prerequisite for matriculation and registration on the master's programme.

Certain degree programmes at the University of Erfurt have specific entry requirements. This means that, in addition to the general requirements, you must demonstrate that you are suitable for your chosen degree programme when submitting your application.
Depending on the degree programme, this is demonstrated either by an aptitude test (EP) or an aptitude test (EFV). Successful completion of these is a prerequisite for submitting an application to the University of Erfurt.
