Information from the organisers

Want to gain at least five months’ practical experience abroad and get paid for it? You can do just that as a foreign language assistant. Depending on the country of assignment, you’ll support German teachers at schools abroad for five to eleven months – and at universities in some destination countries. As an authentic role model, you’ll inspire learners to take an interest in the German language and in Germany. This information evening provides general and practical information about the programme, how it works and the application process. A former foreign language assistant will also be sharing their experiences.

About ELsA

ELsA (Erfurt Teacher Training Students Abroad) is a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) (2021–2024; 2025–2029). Its aim is to internationalise teacher training at the University of Erfurt in the long term. Increasing mobility abroad and facilitating intercultural experiences for lecturers and students are key objectives of this project. In doing so, the aim is to strengthen existing partnerships with universities and to establish and consolidate further international contacts.
