The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted on 20 November 1989. Our world has changed a lot since then. So what do children's rights mean in today's digital world?
On the one hand, the workshop will focus on the rights of children in the digital space, which were elaborated in a General Comment by the UN Commission on the Rights of the Child in 2021. On the other hand, it is about how educators can guarantee these rights in their everyday lives. We explore the question of how the rights to promotion, protection and participation can be implemented in educational contexts with regard to digital media.
The workshop will introduce "Mika's Wish", a systemic method that was developed as part of the project "Living children's rights digitally!" project, which has been developed, trialled and successfully implemented many times and is being continued in the current project "Digital? Only with children's rights!" project.
