Organizer's Information

In a digitalised world, US tech giants have long been more than just service providers. As key infrastructure providers, they exert a massive influence on the global balance of power.

Together, we will explore the following questions:

  • What are the consequences of Big Tech’s dominance for international politics?
  • What influence do these corporations have on the socio-ecological transition?
  • What role do data and AI play in global competition?

Dr Silvia Weko (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg) completed her PhD at the University of Erfurt and conducts research on the political aspects of the sustainability transition. Her expertise ranges from technology transfer and international relations to the ‘water-energy-climate nexus’.

Come along and discuss with us one of the most pressing issues at the intersection of technology and security policy!
We look forward to seeing you there!
