Information from the organisers

Not convinced that military intervention and force are the only way to think about security? Then this upcoming event might be for you.

We are excited to invite you to a conversation with Neema Namadamu, a human rights activist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and founder of the Maman Shujaa (Hero Women) initiative. She works closely with women in the DRC, amplifying their voices and supporting their leadership in peacebuilding and community development.

The event focuses on how women, in the face of violence and instability, organize themselves, build resilience, and empower one another through local initiatives and collective action.

Rethinking Security invites us to move beyond traditional ideas of force and institutions, and instead understand security from the ground up, through communities and the leadership of women affected by conflict and gender-based violence.

We hope you’ll join this important discussion and of course, there will be time for your questions at the end.
