Campaign "Gold instead of brown" wants to set an example for diversity, respect and tolerance

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism and the end of World War II, the campaign "Gold instead of brown" will take place on May 8 in Thuringia. The Student Council of the University of Erfurt is also participating. As a visible sign, the students have wrapped the pillars at the main entrance to the campus with golden foil and also covered some windows with golden foil.

The target of the campaign, which in Erfurt was called for by the initiative "Die Vielen Erfurt", the "Kunsthaus Erfurt" and the "Ständige Kulturvertretung" among others, and in which numerous other actors in Erfurt are participating in addition to the students, is to stand up for diversity, respect and tolerance together with cultural venues, initiatives, educational institutions and individuals. In a "Golden Action Week" from May 2 to 8, attention will be drawn to this with workshops, dance events, readings, discussion rounds and much more. In total, Erfurt residents can expect more than 30 events over seven days. It is also planned to decorate house facades and windows throughout Erfurt with golden foils, thus creating a "golden ribbon" throughout the city.

Further information and the programme for the action week can be found on the website of the "Ständige Kulturvertretung".
