International students or doctoral candidates who
- have outstanding academic achievements;
- have an above-average social commitment;
- are foreign students (no German school leaving certificate, graduation from a German school abroad is possible);
- are at least in their 3rd semester (Bachelor's) or 2nd semester (Master's) or are recent graduates or doctoral candidates whose final examination is usually no more than 3 months ago or who are currently doing their doctorate;
- are not visiting or exchange students.
Proposals can be funded in parallel by another German organisation, a foundation or a company, but not by the DAAD. One of the aims of the prize is also to recognise those students or doctoral candidates who successfully complete their studies under their own steam and do not receive any other support. Furthermore, the DAAD Prize is not a research prize and is not intended to honour doctoral work. Nominations from teaching staff and employees of the University of Erfurt can be submitted until 15 June via the respective faculty to the Vice President for International Affairs (vpi@uni-erfurt.de) and a copy to the International Office (international@uni-erfurt.de) by 15 June. Please enclose the following documents:
- completed nomination form
- expert report on the application
- curriculum vitae of the proposed student/doctoral candidate
- grade report (only for students)
- proof(s) of the proposed student's voluntary commitment
- consent of the proposed student to the data processing
The proposals are submitted to the Presidium with the involvement of the Senate Committee for International Affairs. The award is expected to be presented at an event open to the university public in the coming winter semester.
