Digital guest lecture by the theologian Simone Kotva at the University of Erfurt

The relationship between philosophical and theological questions is the subject of a lecture to which the Theologische Forschungskolleg at the University of Erfurt has invited the Norwegian theologian Simone Kotva. The digital guest lecture will take place on Thursday, 27 May, at 7.15 pm. The title of the lecture in English is: "Empiricism and Ecstasy. Rethinking the Relationship between Philosophy and Theology".

Kotva will look at the significance of attention as a spiritual technique for critical theory and practice today. She locates her reflections in questions of ecology and life after the Anthropocene.

Simone Kotva works at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo. She holds a PhD from the Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge, where she teaches as an Affiliated Lecturer. In 2020, the theologian's first book was published: "Effort and Grace: On the Spiritual Exercise of Philosophy" (London: Bloomsbury). Other works deal with questions of environmental ethics, among other things.
