Feature updates for Windows 11 will begin on 20 July

On 20 July 2026, the University Computer and Media Center (URMZ) will begin rolling out the feature update to Windows 11 (version 25H2) for all centrally managed devices. The majority of university devices are already running this version; the update is now being rolled out to all remaining devices. Distribution and installation take place automatically in the background via Windows Update.

During the actual update process – particularly during the subsequent, necessary restart – there may be longer waiting times. Please allow for this when planning your working hours. Windows will display the estimated duration before the restart. If you do not have sufficient time available at the moment, you can postpone the restart until a later time that suits you better.
