Researchers from the University of Erfurt at the "YES Workshop" in Jena

Researchers from the University of Erfurt took part in the two-day "YES Workshop - From PhD to Innovator", which was organised by the K1 Founders Service of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in cooperation with the YES - Young Entrepreneurs in Science programme.

The English-language workshop brought together doctoral students and postdocs from various universities - including Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Georg August University Göttingen and the University of Erfurt - to explore how research can have a real impact through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Over two inspiring days at the beginning of October, participants experimented with design thinking, developed initial prototypes and engaged in intensive dialogue with sciencepreneurs and innovation coaches.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for young researchers to share ideas, strengthen their entrepreneurial thinking and gain insights into ways of transferring research and founding a company.

The Founders Service of the University of Erfurt would like to thank the organising teams of the K1 Founders Service (FSU Jena) and the YES - Young Entrepreneurs in Science programme for the opportunity to participate in this valuable experience.

"The event was inspiring and encouraged our researchers to think beyond their academic projects and discover how their ideas can have an impact outside the university context," said the University of Erfurt's Founders Service team.

We look forward to further collaborations and initiatives that encourage researchers to turn their ideas into innovations!
