The Challenges of Regulating Global Supply Chains

Our PhD student Karina Marzano wrote a blog text for the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies e.V. (IASS) in Potsdam on the challenges of regulating global supply chains. She analyzes the German Due Diligence Law based on lessons learned from private governance.

The German Bundestag is considering a bill that would force companies to manage risks in their global supply chains (GSCs). While the passage of the bill would help to ensure better labour and environmental standards, revisions are still needed in key areas.
