Nowadays, learning success means far more than simply reproducing knowledge: the focus is on the extent to which students can develop and apply subject-specific, methodological and reflective skills. Examinations play a key role in this: they provide guidance, offer feedback on learning progress and have a significant influence on the learning process.
The workshop focuses on the design of competence-oriented measures of learning success in teaching and learning. Participants will explore different forms of assessment and reflect on their potential applications in the context of various competence levels and teaching objectives. Particular attention will be paid to the relationship between learning outcomes, teaching and learning methods, and assessment formats in the context of constructive alignment.
The focus is on questions such as: Which forms of assessment are suitable for which competences? How can formative and summative methods be used effectively? How can students be specifically prepared for assessment situations? And how can students be given feedback on their learning progress?
Short presentations, discussions and practical individual and group work sessions ensure a varied workshop with direct relevance to participants’ own everyday teaching practice.
