New provision times for manuscripts and historical prints in the special reading room

Due to the seasonally low temperatures in the stacks of the Gotha Research Library of the University of Erfurt, it is necessary for conservation reasons to air-condition ordered titles before use. Against this background, new provision periods apply from Monday, December 5, 2022, until further notice for manuscripts and prints published before 1850:

Stocks from the magazine in the Friedenstein Castle:

  • order before 9 a.m.: use possible from 3.30 p.m. onwards
  • order from 9 a.m.: Use possible the following day

Holdings from the Perthes Forum: provision within four working days
Holdings from the external stacks: provision within three working days
